About This Project

A highly figured piece of oak which came from the very base of an ancient oak which overlooked Seale Hayne Agricultural College for generations.

It’s a mixture of light sap wood and dark heart wood, with a bark inclusion near the lip and swirling figure throughout.

A steel handle has been re crafted from shards of metal still attached to section of decommissioned gun stock – re using another generation’s craftsman’s ship.  The inside has been sensitively textured leaving it like smooth sand and coloured silver to complement the handle.

It is approximately 110mm in diameter and 95mm tall and has been sealed with three coats of Danish oil leaving it with a durable satin glow.

A truly unique piece of wood which would grace anyone’s home.
